Aerion Announces Promotions and New Senior Staff Positions

“We’re aligning our organization for growth,” says CEO Nichols.

Geneva (EBACE) — May 18, 2015: Aerion announced today a series of promotions and appointments, establishing a leadership team to guide the growth of the company and the acceleration of the AS2 supersonic business jet program.

“We have built a strong, experienced and simply top–‐notch leadership team to manage the growth of Aerion and the complexities of bringing a supersonic business jet to market,” said Doug Nichols, CEO of Aerion Corporation. “I am proud and grateful to have such colleagues.”

Dr. Richard Tracy, Aerion’s chief technology officer, whose pioneering work in supersonic natural laminar flow has been critical to the development of a practical and efficient supersonic aircraft, has been appointed Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Aerion Corporation. Dr. Tracy is also a member of Aerion’s board of directors.

Mike Hinderberger, who has been serving as program director for aircraft development, has been appointed Senior Vice President for Aircraft Development. He heads Aerion’s engineering organization and is responsible for coordinating the activities of all program participants. Hinderberger has served in senior engineering positions at Gulfstream, Rolls Royce and Hawker Beechcraft, and was formerly chief engineer for the Gulfstream G650 program.

Warren Mazer, currently head of administration, has been promoted to Senior Vice president of Finance and Administration. A former Bain & Company consultant, Mazer has advised Fortune 500 companies, led private equity firm Piedmont Partners Group Ventures, and served as director of business development at DHL Worldwide Express, in addition to holding senior management positions at other firms.

Colin Johnson, previously chief commercial officer for software, has been promoted to Vice President for Software Development, leading the company’s development activities for Aerion’s proprietary design and optimization tools, which are critical to development of the AS2. Johnson previously headed Desktop Aeronautics, which was absorbed into Aerion in 2012. He formerly was CEO of software company Eyetools, a pioneer in eye–‐tracking–‐based user testing.

As previously reported by Aerion, Ernest (Ernie) Edwards recently joined Aerion as Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, responsible for all activities related to the sales effort for the AS2. Edwards was previously president of Embraer Executive Jets, and helped build Embraer into a leading brand in the business aviation industry.

Clint Clouatre, formerly vice president of marketing for Embraer Executive Jets, joins as Vice President of Product Strategy, responsible for a range of duties, including sales engineering, market research, product definition and other sales support functions.

Lisa Holden, most recently director of people at The Spaceship Company (a subsidiary of Virgin Galactic) has been appointed to the position of Vice President of Human Relations. She brings experience in senior HR roles at Fortune 500 companies and start–‐ups. Her experience at The Spaceship Company gives her invaluable experience in the staffing and organizational development needs of a growing and cutting–‐edge aerospace company.

Jeff Miller, a long–‐time communications consultant to Aerion, and a former vice president of communications for Gulfstream Aerospace has been appointed Vice President of Marketing and Communications.
