SAVANNAH, Georgia, October 31, 2016 — Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. today announced that it recently delivered the 200th Gulfstream G650 to a customer in the Middle East.
“The delivery of the 200th G650 is a reflection of this aircraft’s unmatched capabilities and the continued growing demand for the finest aviation experience,” said Mark Burns, president, Gulfstream. “The G650 transformed business aviation when it entered service in 2012, and it continues to lead the industry today. No other business jet can compete with the technology, reliability and performance of our G650. The G650 and G650ER stand alone in their class.”
The G650 was announced in March 2008 and certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in September 2012. The aircraft can travel 7,000 nautical miles/12,964 kilometers at Mach 0.85 and 6,000 nm/11,112 km at Mach 0.90.
In May 2014, Gulfstream announced the G650ER, an extended range version of the G650. The G650ER extends the range of its sister ship to 7,500 nm/13,890 km at Mach 0.85 and 6,400 nm/11,853 km at Mach 0.90. The G650ER connects more international cities and offers more nonstop destinations, from Hong Kong to New York, and Los Angeles to Melbourne, Australia. The aircraft received FAA certification in October 2014 and entered service a month later.
The G650 and G650ER have claimed more than 60 world speed records, and the combined fleet recently surpassed 136,000 flight hours.
“The G650 and G650ER are our top-selling models with a backlog that extends into 2018,” said Scott Neal, senior vice president, Worldwide Sales, Gulfstream. “We continue to see unprecedented demand for the aircraft, due to its unmatched range, speed, safety and comfort.”
The G650 and G650ER feature the PlaneView II flight deck, which includes a state-of-the-art Enhanced Vision System II and the Gulfstream Synthetic Vision-Primary Flight Display as standard equipment.
The aircraft also provide the healthiest and most comfortable cabin experience in business aviation. The G650 and G650ER have the largest purpose-built business jet cabin with 16 panoramic windows, the quietest cabin sound levels, the lowest cabin altitude and 100 percent fresh air.
Gulfstream was the recipient of the 2014 Robert J. Collier Trophy for the development of the G650. The annual award is presented for the greatest achievement in aeronautics or astronautics in America. The G650 was recognized for strengthening business aviation through performance, cabin comfort and safety.
The 200 aircraft delivered include both models in the G650 family, the G650 and the G650ER.
The G650 is certified in 24 countries and the G650ER in 14.
